Bio-methane production plants gaining raising attention as they utilize biomass through gasification or upgrading biogas to energy. Around 2020 3,5 Mtoe of biomethane was produced worldwide and contributes about 0,1% of natural gas demand.
Due to the rising attention by governments regarding this product, research is underway aimed at contributing to the transport decarbonization, which indicates a significant increase in the number of operating biomethane production plants.
